Donations to worthy causes

Ms Norma Weekes, our Public Relations Officer, presented cheques to the Holy Family Children’s Home and The Blind Welfare Association in St Lucia.  The funds were raised from the recent 40^th Anniversary Independence Dance in February held at Stratford Town Hall. 

Ms Weekes said “it was a pleasure to meet Mr Anthony Avril of the St Lucia Blind Welfare Association and Ms Martina Daniel of the Holy Family Children’s Home and present the cheques of £1,000 each to two worthy causes, where I know the funds are very much needed. 

It makes fundraising for UNITY so very worthwhile.  Ms Daniel said “the Board, the staff and the children wish to say a big thank you as we are embarking on fundraising and the main reason is to rebuild our home, as we want a new structure to take in more children”.  Upon receiving his cheque, Mr Avril said “we wish to thank the Association for the donation and the money will be put to good use”..
