In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity and support, the Unity of UK Saint Lucian Associations has once again reached across many miles to make a meaningful contribution to some organisations and individuals in Saint Lucia.
The three recipients who were honoured during this charitable event are Dr. Karleen Mason, Executive Director of the Centre for Adolescent Renewal and Education (CARE), who received a generous donation on behalf of the organization. Ms. Lancia Isidore, Managing Director of the Saint Lucia Crisis Centre (SLCC), was also a grateful beneficiary. Additionally, Ms. Kourtney Labadie, a bright student from Anse-la-Raye studying at the SALCC, received support, represented by her mother.
The Association also through Mrs. Felicia Hippolyte, the long-standing President of Unity of UK St Lucian Associations presented cheques of £1000 to both CARE and the St Lucia Crisis Centre and Ms. Kourtney Labadie received £500 to assist in her educational journey. These generous contributions are a testament to the unwavering commitment of the community to support their fellow citizens in times of need.
The monetary gifts were made possible by the proceeds from the Association’s annual Saint Lucia National Day Concert and Dance held in the UK on Saturday 25 February.
The Presentation Brothers’ Community Leader and CARE volunteer, Bro James Needham, as well as Presentation Brothers Associates Coordinator Nahdjla Bailey were also in attendance at the presentation ceremony which was held on Tuesday 27 June in Vigie, Saint Lucia.
