Our National Day Cultural Evening was celebrated at the Tollgate Gate Community Centre in West London on 17 December with a great line-up. Unfortunately, due to rail strikes and the adverse weather conditions, the turnout was not as high as anticipated but those who attended thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Unity thanks the following artists for their brilliant contribution on the night:
- Dr. Morgan Dalphinis, who delivered a very informative history & language in Saint Lucia
- Tanya Edwards who sang so brilliantly. Tanya has been in London’s West End for over 15 years and is currently in “Sister Act the Musical”.
- Peter Francis (formerly known as Special P) international comedian who engaged superbly with the audience.
- The AFCA Movements for their vibrant display in Afro-Caribbean dancing, which represented their rich Caribbean Lucian background.
It was indeed an evening of superb entertainment and to quote an attendee “it was a beautiful atmosphere, and it’s about “quality” – well done to the organisers!
